I was 4/4 in Wave 1 of the January/February window and 0/4 for Wave 2. We’ll forget Wave 2 ever happened (and assume that the AICPA won’t delay BEC or release FAR second again) and march boldly forward with these predictions.
Joanne Vician (who graciously sent me score release info ahead of it being public) at the Illinois Board of Examiners retired after the Jan/Feb 2009 window, but left the readers of this site in good hands with a contact of hers…more to come on that later.
Here we go…
Here are the predictions for the April/May 2009 Wave 1 (NASBA) score release…
- May 18 – BEC
- May 20 – AUD
- May 21 – REG
- May 22 – FAR
- May 15 – BEC
- May 18 – AUD
- May 19 – REG
- May 20 – FAR
- May 17 – BEC
- May 15 – BEC actual NASBA release
Which means that IL, CA, VA, etc will get their scores…
Like I said, Joanne left the candidates who read this site in good hands…as I get info on score releases, I will pass them along as I can…most likely via Twitter, as I can update it via my phone.
Update 5/11/2009 – NASBA Updates Score Release Process…
Revised NASBA release prediction:
- May 19 – AUD
- May 19 – AUD actual NASBA release
- May 20 – REG
- May 25 – REG actual NASBA release
- May 21 – FAR
- May 21 – FAR actual NASBA release
update 5/26/09 – (Two out of four ain’t bad…)
update: AICPA released BEC earlier than expected…here’s some bold prediction updates (reckless and not for the faint of heart…)
- May 14 – BEC
- May 15 – AUD
- May 18 – REG
- May 19 – FAR

IL – you won’t get your AUD score until the Wave 2 AUD release happens…when they release a section in Wave 2 – it’s everyone – Wave 1 and 2 people together.
Even though there will be BEC people who only took BEC a few weeks earlier – they will get their score in Wave 2 before you do…that’s just how it works, unfortunately.
Ok. Thanks for your input.
Hey all Texas wave 1 people, I spoke with the board this afternoon and they said that they were still receiving REG scores from NASBA. The rep said that she did not know when the scores will be posted to the website.
I’m guessing that thats her default answer…but I have a feeling that REG scores will be posted tonight or tomorrow.
Anyone received their REG score in WA? Does any other state use Castle Worldwide to release scores rather than NASBA website. Historically Castle’s releases fall real close with Jeff’s predictions but no REG yet.
Jeff:
Now that wave 1 is unfortunately over, what are the predictions for wave 2.
I am expect FAR (last paper) in MA
80 on REG on Oklahoma, great motivation for BEC Friday!
Thanks for keeping us updated, Jeff. Anxiously awaiting Wave 2 dates. (As are my poor bitten fingernails….)
BTW, I liked 100 posts per page better. It’s too difficult to follow a question-answer sequence with only 10 per page.
Thanks for letting me know Nan…I was experimenting with 10…it allows people to keep track of what page they were on instead of trying to find the last post they read in a sea of 100 posts.
I’m just trying it…if too many people hate it, I’ll change it back.
I agree with NAN
Just talked to NASBA rep regarding OH-Aud. I am not sure about other states but he said 1st wave for AUD will be still going on till the first week of June and might want to check the score tomorrow and this Friday. He said next week is still in play. I am just keeping my fingers crossed.
I will be around less since I am DONE, but I agree with Nan. Just my 2 cents.
i agree with Nan too.. sorry Jeff

This person was trying to help you…but they’re wrong…100% sure Wave 1 is finished.
I was told the same thing for Wave 1 AUD in Ohio. The rep I spoke with told me he knew for a fact that they were receiving more scores THIS week…..Not questioning the information you have provided to us Jeff, that is just the info passed along to me by the NASBA rep. Also, I checked today, and my scores from past windows which had still been up previously have disappeared. Hopeful I may get something tonight!
anyone wanna bet ??
I switched it back…thank you for the input!
A big pass for REG,,yay~~~~!~~~~More motivation for BEC !
“anonymous – I was told the same thing for Wave 1 AUD in Ohio. I was wondering the same thing too. I wasn’t able to see my old scores last few times when they were updating the scores. Then got back when people start to post score release. I believe those were missing since last Saturday night. Hope this is a sign for the update. Jeff – I know you said 1st wave is done but do you know it is for all of the NASBA states? I am wondering if NASBA do the process per state basis. I’m thinking you, Jeff, are probably right but don’t want to give up my hope till next week.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get scores if scores are mailed only? (no website to check) Wondering how long I should be anxiously looking into the mailbox before resigning that my FAR score (taken 4/23) will not be there until mid-late June.
I took AUD on April 6th and am still waiting for my score…impatiently. This is so frustrating!!! I can’t believe it takes this long.
I’ve called NASBA 3 separate times, and each person I spoke with gave me a different answer about when I can expect my test results… I took the BEC exam in Wisconsin on April 18th and one person from NASBA told me that Wisconsin waits for all test results, so we should be seeing something by the end of the month or early next month, another person from NASBA said that all of the test results are in for BEC, so I have to wait until the third week in June because I am in wave 2, and a third person from NASBA said that it could be anytime within the next month or two until I receive the results……does anyone have any valid insight for Wisco?? Seriously, does it really take 3 months to grade a 90 question multiple choice test??
Any scores from Texas for REG?
Pam, I hope we get them tomorrow! Usually, Texas is only 1-2 days after IL releases. :-/
So I failed REG and my husband asks why I didn’t study. I guess people who don’t go through tax season don’t understand that it is already difficult enough to have to work 60+ hrs a week and try to find time to do anything else. Especially when you add on Board meetings for an organization I’m on the Board of and training for a half marathon. I didn’t have much of a choice but to take the exam at the end of tax season because my 6 month window was expiring so I crammed the weekend before and ended up failing. What else was I supposed to do? It’s hard working in public accounting and having to manage clients and staff all day with a significant workload during tax season so it’s unfair that someone that has never been through it would say something like that. I guess he just doesn’t get it and never will!
“AL FAR says: Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get scores if scores are mailed only? (no website to check).”
Al, NASBA mailed my BEC score one business day after it was released (I checked the postmark date), and the letter took another two days to arrive.
With FAR Wave 1 being released last Thursday, the mailed-out reports should be arriving between now and this Thursday. Of course, sometimes the USPS mis-routes the mail I’ve sent out myself. I could tell you horror stories about lost, damaged, and mis-directed mail.
If you don’t have a letter in hand by Friday you might consider calling NASBA.
Has anyone out there passed a section of the exam but didn’t finish it?
Let me clarify my question: has anyone been working on a simulation and it timed out in the middle of it (so you didn’t finish), but you still received a passing score?
Jeff,
What about the rest of FAR, do you predict that to be in Wave 2 like you do audit??
“Anonymous says: at 5:09 pm

I didn’t finish my 2nd simulation for FAR. I completely didn’t do the research tab, and I left 1/2 of another tab blank. I passed with a 93.

Wow! That is impressive.
83 on REG Wohoo!!!

“Wow! That is impressive.”
Trust me, I was surprised too! Maybe that simulation was a “test” sim that got thrown out.
has anyone got texas scores?
To those with online scoring….be very thankful that you have it!
I’m in Alabama (no online posting) and waiting on BEC and REG scores.
The State Board in AL says I am on the list for early release for both parts. Come on June 5th….at least I’ll know my destiny. Until then I’ll continue to have panic attacks thinking about it. I already have FAR and AUD but lose FAR if I didn’t pass both of these.
“Trust me, I was surprised too! Maybe that simulation was a Âtest sim that got thrown out”
I didn’t realize there were test simulations.
Praise the Lord!!! I passed REG (Michigan) and am done with the exam! My 50 birthday is in July and I have achieved my goal! I am so happy and feel so blessed. I wish I would have found this website before 2 months ago. It is awesome and a great support system for CPA candidates. Thanks Jeff. ………..and I didn’t even think about the exam score all weekend and enjoyed spending time with my 8 month old grandson.
Does your score on MCs affect the way your Simulations are graded. I read these stories about people who only complete one sim and still score in the 90s.
Has anyone got FARE scores from CA board? I am getting impatient here! I really don’t know where to look – this is my first ever CPA exam. please help!
hey Jeff this is really urgent
i am regd with the Colorado board
and on the 14th of may i saw my BEC test score online for which i had appeared on the 8th of may
and now when i punch in the section id n birth date, my score doesn’t show!
what does this mean?
any idea? anyone?
Jeff, thank you so much for the site, I just discovered it last week, just in time to anxiously await my REG score today (1st test) and I passed! I am so excited and ready for more now. Thanks Jeff and keep up the good work!
kush nj,
No worries, sometimes scores disappear as the website is being updated. A few others have had the same issue.
oh!
so this means the score is still intact.
by when could i expect the score mail from the board?
any clue dave?

Lisa,
If you can complete CPA at this age, then that’s the best motivation factor any one of us can get. Your grandson would be proud of you once he would start understanding all the career stuff
My heartiest congratulations to you
wow!!
lisa you seriously have not only successfully cleared the CPA test! but also succeeded in providing us a whole lotta inspiration to complete the course as Divya rightly said!
seriously i mean… hats off to u!
god bless. and a happy birthday in advance!
Hi Jeff !!!
I took my exams in Los Angeles and registered with the COLORADO board.
I took my exams on April 1, 2 & 3. I have got the scores for
(1) BEC
(2) AUD
(3) REG
But the FAR which i took on April 2, is still not out…
Any ideas on what it means???
Well done Lisa, CPA…you’re awesome!
Kush – as others have said…no worries…I have yet to hear of someone’s score appearing…disappearing…and then changing.
Suneel – it is probably due to you getting a new simulation…which automatically puts you in Wave 2.
OKpoke…I was just in Edmond this past weekend…random fact. Congrats on REG..bet it feels good getting that beast behind you.
re: “test” sims…there are no “test” sims…there may be some “test” tabs on a sim…and one written communication is not graded…but both sims count.
thanks Jeff
i rechecked it now
and it appeared!
and it did not change =(
Hi, Lisa!
At last – someone else my age! I turned 50 this past January.
Congrats on passing. I’m awaiting my REG score in Wave 2. It’s my last section too.
I’m briefly mentioned in an article published today by the AICPA’s CPA Insider…you might find it interesting…
http://www.cpa2biz.com/Content/media/PRODUCER_CONTENT/Newsletters/Articles_2009/CPA/May/Twitter.jsp
I took REG 4/17 and passed it. But still waiting for audit 5/7..
which is killing me..

Scores for CA FAR that came out in Wave 1 are out, they came out last week. You were bumped to Wave 2. So was I. This is your first and my last . . . it sucks, eh? Oh well . . . just keep studying for your next one and circle back to FAR if you don’t pass. You can’t wait for your scores to be published before moving on to the next exam, you’ll end up having your 18-month window expire if you have to retake more than one or two . . . and you don’t want to do that if you can help it.
So . . . I’m back to waiting for another 4 weeks. Ugh. Passed AUD, then REG, then BEC and then CA Ethics while I am waiting for FAR . . . . and we wait . . . .
Per the Ohio Audit discussions above, I noticed that my scores from the Jan/Feb testing window also disappeared this past weekend. Mine disappeared around 11pm on Friday night. I have not received my Audit score yet (sat for it on 5/2), and Jeff – I believe you that we will have to wait until wave 2, but I’m checking everyday just in case. I really don’t want to wait another month.
Also – for those of you who are compulsive checkers like me, you may want to check out Internet Owl. It’s a free download and will tell you when a website has changed and can even send you an e-mail when a change has occured. I have it checking my score every hour just in case.
When can those of us that just took the exam expect to see our scores on nasba.org? Thanks.
This is for audit.
I just received my CA- Audit score on 5/26…
a freakken 74!@?#?!@#?!#@?!#?!#?!
that hurts
I got an advisory score in TX….. 79!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now just waiting for AUD!!
I don’t even know what an Advisory Score is.
“On 5/26/2009 the Board received an advisory score of 98. The score is being validated.”
BUT I HOPE IT DOESN’T CHANGE!

I saw my score (REG) yesterday morning at nasba.org. I took it April 1st in Michigan.
I got an advisory score in TXÂ .. 79!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now just waiting for AUD!!
How did you check your REG advisory score? On the website?
Me too! 83! What an awesome feeling!
A-TX REG,
You have to go to “Review your CPA Exam Testing Activities,” and click on “REG.” It should say that your score was received on the 26th, but is being validated.
On 5/26/2009 the Board received an advisory score of 84. The score is being validated.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
I just looked on the Texas board, it said I received an advisory score of 83 for REG on 5/26. Do advisory scores ever change?
I just checked the Texas site and my REG score is not posted. I took it on 4/11. I wonder if they update during the day?
Does anyone know if TX has released any AUD scores?
Where are the WAVE 2 release date predictions?
I just took AUD on May 26.
Thanks CA-FAR,
Just one last question. How does CA-Board release their scores? I checked my account and it shows no credit. I took my FARE paper on April 11… Do they send the score report by USPS?
Aaron – Jeff said yesterday that wave 2 prediction will be available in a couple of day.
Has anyone ever seen an advisory score changed?
I’ll get Wave 2 up today around lunch time hopefully.

Anonymous and JMC, from what I have heard, advisory score doesn’t change
Thank you for this amazing website. It really got me through! I’m finished with CPA forever and luckily the first time through!
REG-91
FAR-88
BEC-90
AUD-85
Congrats on passing all four the first time..those are excellent scores!

Hey Jeff – I just took BEC today – any idea (guesstimate) how long it will take to receive my score? Its hopefully my last section so was just wondering what you thought.
People in TX waiting for their Reg scores-
If you look on the tsbpa website and click on REG, it will show you what your tentative score is. It is waiting to be validated but I called the board and they said that score usually never changes. It’s been a long wait but alas, it’s finally here!
Good Luck!!
Anyone receive any scores from Wisconsin?? I took BEC on 4/18 and still nothing!! Thanks!
I just realized that I cannot account for what happened last week . . . delayed report . . . missed deadlines. . . what happened? Ans = Jeff’s + NASBA’s fault – I spent most of the time checking result and reading comments here. Still I did not get my FAR result – its the last part for me. Now playing catch-up at work today.
My third testlet was very weird – strange questions that I dont know whether they are CPA questions or some Psychology questions that got mixed up with FAR (for real) and to add insult to injury my exam was interrupted briefly by network failure . . .
Jeff, thanks for this website. Please post the guestimates for 2nd wave, it will probably keep me sane.
Can anyone see Jan/Feb window scores on NASBA now? I know couple people from Ohio saying they can’t see their Jan/Feb. How about other states, can you guys still see your old scores on NASBA?
I took FAR on 4/6 yet, until today I have not yet received my score on CPA CA webpage…. Anyone out there got info? Or just me ~~
Leanne from WI: I took BEC on 4/9 and have not received my score yet. I know two other people who took BEC and REG between 4/3 and 4/8 and they have not received their scores either. One of the girls emailed the WI exam coordinator today and received the following response:
“Scores from the first set received are due to be released at the beginning of next week as long as all scores have been received.”
So, hopefully early next week, we will have them….I understand your frustration!
I just looked at the TX website under the text for REG and my tenative score is 74 and my last time was 72. Do they ever raise the grade to a 75 during validation?
Wave One is complete and comments on this post are now closed.
Please continue the discussion at the Wave 2 predictions page.

Waiting on AUD score in GA – Took it on April 14.
