Week 38
Hello all! Im happy to report that I passed BEC, so 3 sections down and REG to go. The score release schedule this cycle was pretty screwy. I think Another71.com reported that BEC was released on 6/20 or 6/21, so you can imagine when my score wasnt in that I was very anxious.
I called my state midweek to ask about my score and they said they hadnt received all the BEC scores, but didnt give any further information. So Im thinking, maybe mine got lost or maybe they released passing scores first.
Finally on Monday 6/27, I called NASBA directly, and they informed me that I was mistaken and that all the BEC scores werent released, but that they had BEC score releases scheduled straight through to June 30th. All you can do is keep checking that darn website, but luckily my score was released on Tuesday 6/28, so I didnt have to suffer the extra two days.
Needless to say, I am ecstatic, but I do realize that REG wont be a walk in the park. I really need to get myself focused and pound through this material.
I have 56 days remaining until my REG exam and am struggling getting through the first two chapters of Becker. I have read and re-read the stuff a few times, but ugh, its painful. And the beautiful weather isnt helping either.
I only logged 13 hours this week and I know that aint going to cut it. Things have been busy at work for quarter end, Ive been caving and spending some extra time with my girls, and I rejoined the gym to lose that extra 15-20 lbs Ive gained since starting to study for this exam.
These are all excuses, I know, but this thing has consumed me for the last year, so its nice to be able to take a breather.
I actually have a funny story. I was in Starbucks studying this weekend, because the library is closed for the holiday weekend, and this older guy asks me if Im still studying for the CPA. Then I remembered that we spoke for a few minutes last summer when I was cramming in Starbucks. Its just funny that even a perfect stranger knows this thing consumes me.
Anyway, I have managed to plow through 3 sections and this is no time to start letting up and losing momentum. Basically, Im going to have to do my gym time, work, and family time and not skimp on study time.
Twenty hours a week from here on in and Im hoping some of you guys will pile on me if I continue to slack like I have for the past month. Dont hold back any punches, PLEASE! It will be for my own good. And Ive got a thick skin, so I can take it.
Well, congrats to all that have passed an exam during this past cycle and better luck next time to those that have not.

You are so close....keep the motivation going. Like you said 56 days to go, then you might be done with this monster. I know the weather's nice out but you may have to give up one more summer for the rest of your life!!! Congrats and now go get REG!!! Good Luck!!
Yay for being almost done! I'm like you, I am having trouble getting that momentum back. It's our last section, let's do this!!
Give it all you have for 56 days and then you can say good riddance to the CPA exam. Best of luck to you!
You're really really hot.
