“Tick tock on the clock, but the party don’t stop, no don’t stop, make it pop, DJ blow my speakers up. Tonight I’mma fight, ‘till we see the sunlight…”

Well studying for the CPA exam is definitely not a party with a DJ by any means but my clock is definitely going tick tock! My 18 month window is coming to a close in November and my laptop speakers are definitely blaring Phil Yaeger of Yaeger CPA Review when the sun comes up!

So thank Ke$ha for the fabulous analogy.

Last week was the first week I attempted Jeff’s NINJA study guide outline for REG and I will be honest I fell a little short on the number of hours. I guess in my head I am justifying my short comings with the fact that I have given myself a couple extra weeks to study.

I mean 16 hours of studying last week isn’t all that bad! (Or is it?) Let me just say that I have come to realize that I am NOT a morning person. I do not understand how people jump out of bed at 5:30 in the morning and try to excite themselves to listen to Phil. Don’t get me wrong I like Phil as he has become one of my best friends over the past few weeks but having a CPA Exam instructor be the last person I see at night and the first person I see when I wake up is depressing!

I applied for my NTS today for the umpteenth time and now am starting to feel the pressure kick in as I pick July 2nd for my testing date. In the back of my mind I just feel as though I am going to fail where it seems to be my trend lately. That high on life feeling that I felt when I passed Audit has faded away and I kind of need it back pronto!

My 18 months is up in November and I have to pass 3 exams or I lose audit. Is that even humanly possible!? OK, yes, I know it is possible but I fear FAR and don’t know if I will make it out alive on the first try. I guess I can’t think about that and need to keep my mind on what is currently in front of me… my REG Wiley book!

It has been nice that I have a friend at work who is taking REG at the same time as me. I feel as though he keeps me in check and I keep him in check. I know I sure felt guilty today when he told me that he had gotten through the partnership lectures of the Yaeger Home Study.

So you can bet your butt I will be finishing those tonight if it kills me! I will admit it I am a little competitive and don’t want to be the one behind even though this is by far not a competition.

I am hoping that this week I will be able to get through partnerships and corporations. I am determined to hit at least 20 hours of quality studying. I wish I could be one of those people who sit at a coffee shop and studies but with people watching being one of my favorite hobbies I see that being super unproductive. That being said, I will be setting my coffee maker the nights before and trying to wake up early enough to study to watch the sunrise and have Phil blaring out my laptop!

Wish me luck and happy studying!
