    Hello All,

I passed my final two exams on the last release date a few weeks back. Does anyone have any idea when I will receive my letter for next steps? I am registered in New York. Anything I can do to be proactive while waiting? I am impatient and after a year of taking this test I just wan to have my license in hand.

I got mine on Monday but I think they come from your state board so times differ I guess. Nasba says October 15th online but obviously was sooner for me. I'm in WA

In the mean time, granted I am not sure how your state works, but while I was waiting for my letter i gathered all the other stuff. I got my work expereicne letters from my current and former firm since I have been here less than one year and got my updated photo taken and my character ref letters. I had the whole application filled out already so i was able to just toss in the congratulatory letter and mail it.

There's an entire thread dedicated to the NY licensing process.

NYS License – Time to Process

I still haven't received my congrats letter either. The licensing wait time is even longer I'm afraid 🙁

It's sad that I have to wait longer to get my license than it took me to pass all 4 exams.

Wait I'm confused. I passed all 4 sections recently too and did not realize you receive a congratulatory letter from NYS.

Do you receive this letter in mail or by e-mail? I am assuming this letter is different from the Score Notification letter.

    Any insight would be great.

So I originally applied about 10 years ago with New York in order to actually sit for my exam. I am pretty sure that I had to submit transcripts and pay a fee when I initially registered. Will I have to Submit form 1 and pay the fee again? Same with form 2, I can clearly remember having transcripts sent to actually be able to sit for the exam in New York.

@lexus423, I am pretty sure you will have to submit the form 1 again and pay the fee. Regarding the transcripts, I am unsure which route you are taking.

I took the 150 credit route and the NASBA sent my course evaluation directly to the board, so I did not have to fill out Form 2.

I still did not receive my congratulatory letter yet, but still sent in the application. The board cashed my check, so I assumed they accepted my application for processing. I don't know if sending my application in before receiving the letter messed up my application, but I hope not.

@cleethree So did you just send in your application and experience letter? Any idea of usual timing between receipt of application and actual licensure?

On the NYS applications, section 20. Do I need to list all of the times I took the exam or just passing? I have taken the exam a few times over the past 10 years. If so, how would I even be able to access that information?

@lexus423, Yes I sent both Form 1 and Form 4B the day after I got my grades online via certified mail (I would recommend doing that so you can track and ensure they got it)

I only took each section once, so I can't really answer that question about section 20. But I would suggest to put all your grades just to play it safe. Just put your passing grades that make you eligible first. The fact that they give you a table makes me assume they want all grades.

Anyone know about the work requirement if you are grandfathered in for the 120 hours before 2009? My college course was 150 however NASBA does not want to re-look at my education. It would be much easier for me to get the 1 year sign off than the two.

    @cleethree
You should receive it in the mail and is not the same thing as a score notification, although it looked fairly similar to it. My state board congratulated me for completing it, showed my scores and when I sat for each, then it reminded me of additional requirements to be completed for licensure which were in some additional documents that came with the letter.

@Superdude3000, Oh ok I understand. I assume you don't need the letter to apply, but just more so a confirmation that you passed.

    Thanks a lot!
