Whoa whoa everyone. 1) They don't give you a freebie anymore, tried that multiple times, that ship has sailed unfortunately. 2) ChrisLo is correct, you can renew all 4 sections for $300. I had only AUD left (+REG retake) and was annoyed I had used Becker for the other 3 sections and not AUD so I forked it over. If it's a retake, you can def just use NINJA MCQ for $49 to review, but on your first go (and you've been using Becker) I suggest forking the $300. It was worth it to me. I know not everyone feels that way.

@cruzer – don't I know it. The people in the score release thread that take a sleeping pill before score release have the right idea. While I can feel positive, I am almost in panic-tears every time I check a score. Here's to a 75 for all of us.

Wow. Pretty sure you weren't even asking about analytical proc vs subst testing. Sorry – embarrassed. But in case you need to brush up, well there ya go.

Regarding your assertions. What kind of office environment/company do you work in/for? I work for a public software company and am fortunate enough to see a lot of the applications each day in real life. I identified what process in my office applied to what I was reading, then it made sense.

I saw a similar thread a few weeks ago, most everyone was mentioning how terrible it was. This thread's experience isn't as bad. I took AUD 1/27 and I felt pretty confident going in. MCQs got harder as I went on and I didn't kill it on those but I don't think they were my usual demise. I feel like based on the general experience I may have lucked on out SIMS as mine felt like just general application of the material. I've seen the far out SIMS across all other sections and I felt like mine were fair. I hate the phrase people say “if you think you passed you failed” because 1) that won't apply to me here, I feel positive and 2) I've actually never experienced that. I have actually predicted my score ~2 points each time, and I'm going on 8 or 10 attempts here. I always know when I fail. Anyone else?

Hate having to wait til 2/23. Will report back in case anyone is curious. Or maybe see ya'll in the I Passed AUD thread – I friggin HOPE!

Not for BEC but after taking 3 attempts to pass FAR, I actually had a repeat AL research question. I was pretty sure it wasn't a pretest just based on its nature. If you felt it was whacky it definitely could have been pretest for you. Hard to say. Repeats definitely happen and can either help or wreck you haha.

It's always taken me about 4 weeks to get an NTS. 5 max like someone else above mentioned. And you always have people rescheduling their tests last minute, so you are usually able to then schedule with Prometric for a date within a week of getting your NTS. I've successfully done that in a pinch.

I internalize stress a lot (which turn into gnarly stomach issues) but what I have found helpful is actually essential oils. Sounds hippie, but Bath and Body Works has an aromatherapy section with a line literally called “stress relief.” It's eucalyptus/spearmint scented everything. I have it in shower gel, hand cream at my desk where I study, and even a pillow mist. If you work it into your routine, sit for a minute and let it soak in, along with using the above suggestions (of being positive, you aren't alone on the CPA journey, and that you can do this) it really all gets you to a good state of mind. And I'm not even a hippie I swear. Totally worth it.

And to add to the other sort of encouragement, I get my AUD score on 2/23, and if I pass, my 2/27 could be my last test. If I don't, the psyche will take a hit for my REG (4th) attempt on 2/27 and BEC expires 4/26. I'm almost in a major pickle. You are not alone! (going to go to bed and spray my pillow mist now 🙂 )

@RE2PECT – Nice, 2/27 here we come. Believe it or not I was stronger in SIMS on my first 69. The next 2 goes weren't quite that way haha. I'll keep checking in here for some motivation. Waiting for AUD score on 2/23 and if that's a pass, 2/27 could be my last test – and yours too. *prayer emoji*

Greetings REG friends. Coming back to REG for my most exciting attempt yet – #4. I don't mind REG so much, I feel like I get it, it makes sense most of the time, and I have a crap ton of flash cards to memorize the weird stuff. But do any retakers out there feel like REG sorta makes sense, and then just gets worked by the exam? I'm going through my Becker again (yes, I've used NINJA mcq) and feel like I'm just aimlessly going through old chapters with little difficulty – property tax being an exception. How do I kick this rut I'm in? Because I clearly don't have this material mastered.

Becker user here. Took me 3x to pass FAR (IDK if I was a lazy studier or what it was, it's just a lot of material), but I always saved SIMS for my review phase. I felt like SIMS really helped knock home all of the concepts or helped point out what I thought I had nailed down but clearly didn't. I never did them all – I usually just did a few per chapter. But I think you would benefit from doing some vs showing up on test day with not doing any. SIMS can be a killer way to secure your passing grade – MCQ can be play tricks on you but I never see SIMS as overly complicated, and if you can master them all on test day you can walk out feeling like a champ. After sitting for FAR 3x, I have seen some pretty ridic SIMS – give them a glance.

Ugh, my heart breaks for you @steelcpa. I agree with Jeff's approach and what others are saying – take some time off. Like you're already experiencing, you're zombie'd out and not going to make any headway. Be sad, look at pictures of him, sulk around, it's what your body and mind needs in times like this. I think you'll be able to get back into it next week. Sending hugs this week! I know Jack was a good dog. ♥
