NINJA CPA Review

Clint is a new NINJA CPA Blogger.

I would like to start by saying that I am excited about studying for the CPA exam. No, seriously…

Ah, who am I kidding? It’s exciting until you crack open the first book and realize how many hours you will be studying over the next few weeks in order to take one section of the CPA exam.

At any rate, I will conquer this exam one section at a time.

Here are a few tidbits about my life. I am a CPA candidate in Georgia that has just started studying for FAR to be taken in the first week of January.

Currently, I work as an accountant in an advertising agency and have been in this position since graduated from college in 2010.

For the past year I have also been on path for an MBA and will graduate in December. I have been married for two and a half years to my lovely wife and we have been blessed with a six-month little boy. Speaking of my little boy, he is right at the teething and crawling stage so life is interesting to say the least.

Life is busy for me. Life is busy for all of us. The key is that we all strive to become a CPA. I can tell you from experience that I’ve sacrificed many fun activities in order to finish my MBA on a full-time class schedule while working full-time as an accountant.

I realize that it will be hard in the next few months but thankfully I have a supportive wife and desire to finish this exam.

In starting my study plan for FAR I have decided to use Wiley’s guide and text bank and integrate with the NINJA Notes. Per Jeff’s philosophy, I will be taking notes through the Wiley modules, constantly going over MCQ’s, & rewriting the NINJA notes to fully retain all concepts.

With a little over 11 weeks to go, I will shoot for 10-12 hours of study time each week.

I look forward to providing updates on my experience and hope that you find it useful in your studying endeavors. Now, stop reading and do some MCQ’s…

It’s go time!
