Real Struggle: Coping with CPA Exam Failure

NINJA CPA Review

Kristen Option 2Kristen is a NINJA CPA blogger.

I was recently talking to a coworker, and shared that, although I am not far along in my journey towards sitting for the exam, I am frustrated.

I think that so often when you see a failing result you feel like you are in it alone.

A lot of my colleagues, friends and acquaintances already have the CPA designation — but I didn’t know some of them through their journey to obtain it.

I encourage all of the NINJAs out there to start the discussion with someone who has the designation. There is a struggle for everyone; it just may come in different forms.

One coworker shared that she sat for each section of the exam multiple times before passing. I had a very similar conversation with my mentor; she said she sat for each of the sections multiple times, receiving near-passing grades each time.

It was crushing to her motivation. I am happy to say that both of these ladies now have their CPAs, and successful careers.

Jeff just wrote a great post in May about coping with a failure – hit close to home over here.

As we all know, NINJAs are resilient. Wishing you all luck this month!!

Great post. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your journey. It's good to know we are not alone in our struggles and it does pay off in the end.
