NINJA CPA Review

Adam is a new NINJA CPA Blogger.

One word comes to my mind when I think about preparing for CPA exams: busy.

All of us who are dedicating the proper time to studying for these exams have felt the strain of having to prioritize relationships, activities, sleep, etc. I’m told that I will look back on these years fondly, but I’ve got to say, I’m a bit skeptical.

My name is Adam and I am from Louisville, Kentucky. I began my journey toward obtaining my CPA license in the summer of 2010 and have been on a tireless track since.

I fall into the “non-traditional student” mold like many of you out there. Freshly out of high school, many moons ago, I had no idea what I wanted to do. After a quick four years I wound up walking out of the university with a history degree in hand (and still no idea what I wanted to do).

After graduation I began weighing my options and found an undergraduate program that would allow me to meet CPA exam eligibility requirements in one year. After speaking to many wise business men I decided to jump into the program head first and graduated during the summer of 2011.

Another71 has practically been my web browser’s home page for about six months now and I attribute much of my recent success to this site. The motivation, strategy, community, and entertainment I have found in the blogs and on the another71 Forum have been invaluable to me.

Pre A71, I was 0-2 (both exams being REG). Post A71, I am 2-2 (BEC & REG). Right now I’m in the weeds with Audit and am prepping up for a 5/25 heavyweight bout.

It was a pleasure meeting you all and I look forward to getting through the last 50% of this exam with you all. Remember the saying, “The harder I work, the luckier I get,” and let’s hit the books hard.
