Life Gets in the Way of Studying for REG

NINJA CPA Review

Ashley is a NINJA CPA Blogger.

I only have finals left and then I graduate from my Masters in Accounting Program.

My fiancée and I just bought a house (It’s a severe fixer-upper).

I have REG at the end of May.

My wedding is in September.

Basically, my studying is still being put on the back burner. Again.

I’ve been watching the videos from my course and taking note cards on the PowerPoints, but I haven’t had the time with all of my projects and finals to really sit down and do the MCQ and TBS.

I’m banking on the fact that once my finals are done, I’ll have a month or so before I start work so I can just study like crazy. I didn’t spend a ton on tuition this year to fail out of the Masters program in the last week, so I’m going to make sure that I finish strong. But after graduation, it’s game time.

I plan on doing the MCQ and TBS that I’ve missed, going through the course textbook and marking the topics that I’m unsure about, and obviously reading Jeff’s awesome NINJA Notes for REG. There really is no substitution for his concise and pretty much perfect NINJA Notes.

I highly recommend them to anyone who wants an overview of the main points of an exam.

I passed AUD in January and FAR in February, so it’s hard to find the motivation to study knowing that I have until next May to pass the final two. However, I know that once graduation is over, real life can get crazy, and ‘all that free time to study’ that I’m banking on, will disappear really fast.

So it’s time to buckle down and complete a take home exam tonight so it can get one small step closer to jumping back on the CPA study train.
