Hello NINJAs!

I hope you have been making more progress than me this week. Last week I was pushing to finish my videos and by the end of the week I caught a nasty bug. I struggled to be at work Thursday and Friday and I was sick all weekend.

I have not been to work this week but I am planning on trying to get back to studying. This is proof that no matter how well we plan, we all have little hiccups along the way. The good thing is that I am almost through my videos.

I realize that there are a lot of formulas in BEC and I need to really drill those down. This will be my last exam and I need to make sure that I am ready to make this my last visit to the Prometric test center for these exams.

As I have been sick this week I have had some time to think. One of the things that I was thinking about was how we all need certain things in the journey. We need to know why we are doing this, with constant reminders as we continue.

We have to sacrifice time from family and friends. It is not easy to walk this road but it certainly will be worth it. The number one thing I have been thinking about this week though is the need to have a good support system.

I have a great support system. As I have been sick it is good to know that my wife is so willing to pick up the slack. She picks things up from the store for me and takes more responsibility in taking care of our son.

For the exam she in no way totally understands how trying and tiring these exams are. It’s the months of studying for a 74 or a 72 that seem to go to waste for what I have called a “near-pass” (I try to stay positive). Through all of this she has tried to be positive and encourage me. I am 75% done now with just BEC in my way.

Here is to overcoming our obstacles. Here is to overcoming our fears and learning to take a stand, to taking back our lives. Never give up in this journey.

May the force be with you!
