Hello fellow NINJAs!

You know what I wish? I wish I could wave a magic wand and magically have all of the CPA knowledge I need!

The problem is that it doesn’t work that way and if you want anything of value in this life, you have to work for it. Somehow it means so much more to you when you get it.

The only thing I can relate this to is the time I spent studying for my series 7 exam years ago. I remember that at the time I was totally overwhelmed with trying to figure out concepts and how to remember them for test day.

Now I look back and I don’t remember those feelings as well but I definitely look on my accomplishment with pride.

I think that will be how the CPA exam will be, that we struggle and struggle through it but when it is behind us we will look upon the passing of the exam with pride.

I have to admit with all of this positive thinking that this was a difficult week for me. I found it easier to find distractions to pull me away from my studying time.

I know that for me to take my first section when I want to I will really need to buckle down and study pretty hard. I have been distracted with many things and I need to find a way to limit those distractions.

I have been pretty stressed with finishing my degree because my family is not in the best position financially speaking. I really want to help fix this by getting a job, so job hunting is taking some time.

The problem is that if I find a job, I will have to focus on the job as well and it will be harder to find study time when I am working 40 hours per week. However I know many of you out there are already working and studying, so if you can do it I think I can too!

So, I will sign off for now with a renewed resolve to do better in my studying. I will do better this week. As master Yoda is famous for saying: “Do or do not, there is no try!”
