Application In + Marching through FAR

NINJA CPA Review

Leah is a NINJA CPA Blogger.

I hope everyone has had a great start to the New Year! I didn’t make any specific resolutions. I’ve never followed through on them anyway.

I do plan to keep up on my healthier eating habits and consistent exercise. I find it helps me work out all of my study frustrations. Then again, a few rounds of matchmaking on Xbox works too.

It’s also re-election time for town council. I like being on council, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to pass the exam and find a job to get started working toward experience requirements.

I’m just not sure I’ll be able to serve on council to my fullest while trying to make my CPA dream happen.

I sent in my application a few days ago! It’s another step in the right direction. I was told that it takes about 30 days to process, and then they will notify me of the results.

After I’m notified I can send in my intent to sit form. It’s a newly changed process for West Virginia.

One thing I’ve learned is that it is a good idea to check in with your state’s Board of Accountancy. I spoke with them in late November, but I was not told about the mid-December changes until I called back in early December to re-check my understanding of the process.

They seem to be flexible with the changeover so it’s not a huge deal. I chose to wait a few weeks to get the new application since the new process will save me money. Now I’m just holding my breath until I found out whether or not they accept my application.

In the meantime, I’ll keep marching through FAR material with my ever-present study course and NINJA Materials.
