Giving Up Treats + Getting Serious about FAR

NINJA CPA Review

By Marc

Marc is a weekly NINJA CPA Blogger.

My exam date for FAR is slowly creeping up, August 31st. After receiving my second failing grade for AUD, I have decided that I need to be even more intense about my study habits than I already have been.

I usually like to try to get a round of golf in once a week…not any more. I used to listen to talk radio during the work day….now I listen to FAR NINJA Audio.

I’m to the point where I am finishing Jeff’s sentences and feeling uncomfortable with how repetitive it is getting, which is a great thing. I have been listening to it over and over so that I can recall it very easily on exam day.

I feel frustrated because I think that I have been giving up 90% of my life for these tests so far and have been “treating” myself to things here and there like a round of golf.

I thought that this would be good enough to pass, after all, that is a heck of a lot of time. I have realized that I have to give more if I ever want to be done with this thing.

I am completely finished with all of my lectures and MCQ’s for each chapter, mind you this is my second time doing this. I took a 100 MCQ progress test to see where my weakest parts are and will now start focusing on those areas.

I did not score as high as I feel that I should, but I still have a week and a half to get some of those little details down before my test. I think that I will take my first final exam on Sunday and the second final exam sometime mid week next week. Thinking about it now, that doesn’t leave me with much time to study individual topics.

I spent tonight listening to the FAR NINJA Audio at my desk at home and taking notes on that bite size audio into even more bite size pieces.

I will have an interesting review time because I have a very close friend’s wedding coming up this weekend which is sure to eat up study time…I guess I still can’t give a complete 100%.

Hopefully it doesn’t hurt me and I can fit some studying in during the service haha.
