FAR Exam Experience: Time Management is Key

I took FAR yesterday, and I’m glad it’s over, but I don’t believe it will be the last time I see FAR again.

I didn’t have enough time to finish the simulations. I knew it but I didn’t know it. I sat blank at the screen for a good 5 minutes and then it just came to me what I should do, and then before I knew it the test was over and done.

I completed as much as I could and for the questions I was not confident about I had to guess and move on. The answer wasn’t going to just come to me if I stared at it long enough.

It’s important to have a time strategy and even more important to stick to it.

This was the first time I was taking the test with the board and dry erase pens. The Prometric center gave me two boards, which was nice from the stories I have read here about how messy and snotty it gets (wet tissue).

The only thing I didn’t like is how the ink/marker doesn’t dry on certain parts of the board and smears all over your hand that you’re now getting all over the table.

Now it is on to audit, which I have scheduled to take on May 24th. I’m planning to read the book, make notes, work the questions and then go back and do all over again a few times. Time to hit the books!
