Using the Blackout Month to Prepare for REG

NINJA CPA Review

Hello NINJAs.

I thought I would take a break from studying and give you an update regarding my prep for a rematch with REG.

Things are slow going for me, but overall seem to be successful. I spent about an entire week just reviewing corporate taxation. This was one of my weak points on my last attempt at REG.

I am in the Non-stop multiple choice, and Just rewrite it stage of my review. Of course I am working on things on a topic by topic basis.

Once I felt comfortable with corporate taxation (getting above 80% on quizzes), I moved on to partnership, and estate and gift tax topics. These were pretty easy topics for me the first time I took REG, however, I am not leaving things to chance.

I still type the NINJA Notes, then type the notes from my review course, then attempt the MCQs. If I get less than 80% on the questions, I go through all the notes again.

I really feel like this strategy is working for me. My understanding of the topics I am reviewing is far more comprehensive than when I originally attempted to conquer this section.

With that being said, I am back to the books, notes, MCQs. I hope that the rest of your blackout month is as productive as mine has been.

Keep at it, NINJAs.
