Positive Thoughts + BEC Exam Experience

I woke up this morning with my stomach all in knots. Today is test day!

It has been a mental battle for me this morning. Not with studying, but between negative and positive thoughts.

I believe that positive thinking plays a role in the exam process. Sure, you need to know the information and be prepared, but if you go into any test thinking negatively then all your studying was worthless.

My BEC exam was scheduled for late morning and thanks to my 4 little early risers I was up earlier than anticipated. There are a lot of CPA candidates who would spend these final hours cramming, but for me, there was a fear of panic.

To get my mind on the right track, I spent the morning reading The Little Engine That Could to my kids. Then, to help remind me to stay positive I snapped a picture of my kids holding a sign that read “I think I can.”

When I arrived at the testing center the last thing I looked at, as I was turning down my volume on my phone, was this picture.

It is hard to tell how I did on the exam. I do not feel like I passed, but I never feel that way. There is nothing I can do now but wait for the results.

I think I am going to take a few days, to free my mind, and then start studying again. Hopefully, I only have three sections to go.
