NINJA CPA Review

Joe LIntroducing NINJA CPA Blogger Joe.

Hello NINJAs!

I am (re) beginning my CPA journey in 2016 and I am very happy to have found Another71.com as a resource and a support system. Back in 2014 I scored a 74 on FAR and decided studying was not worth the time and effort.

Here I am 2 years later about to start a new job, with a request from my new employer to obtain my CPA license in the next two years.

Even without my CPA, I have been fortunate enough to have a successful career in the accounting industry.

After spending several years in a Big 4 firm, I have worked in various industries such real estate, private equity, consumer electronics, solar construction, and food manufacturing.

My wife and I moved to Colorado from New York about 4 years ago. We have two children, a three-year-old boy and 10-month old girl. Between our jobs and our kids at home, our plates are completely full. So why not add a major test to the mix?

I have been out of school for 12 years and not having my CPA license is not acceptable. It is the reason I went to school for accounting and the reason why I took out an additional loans to obtain my MBA.

I have run out of excuses for not taking this exam. I am going to take BEC first this time followed by REG. I am basing this on Jeff’s advice since I will still be taking exams when the new format is released in 2017.

I hope to be speaking with everyone very soon and continue to share my experience as I begin yet another CPA exam adventure.
