Lessons Beyond Studying for the CPA Exam

NINJA CPA Review

Christina is a NINJA CPA blogger.

Once these tests are over I need to plant trees to make up for all the paper I’m using while studying. I’ve already gone through one legal pad, front and back, with notes.

This weekend I grabbed two more notebooks for the rest of my studying. I hope two is enough. One is for copying [A71 product=”notes”]NINJA Notes and the other is for my own notes. I plan to fill them both.

It's about two weeks before my test date and I haven’t studied as much as I'd hoped, so I’ve got a big to do list this week: Get through every remaining MCQ and SIM and take notes at least once.

Next week I will study what I got incorrect and brush up on needed topics in my book. I’m getting seriously nervous about this retake, but feel confident that if I stick to my plan, I will pass.

When I’m done with this exam, I’m going to take a couple of days off before hitting AUD. Since I have to wait so long to find out if I pass, I’m moving on. I’m caught up at work so I’ll do MCQ throughout the day between other tasks. This will allow me study time I wouldn’t have otherwise.

I had a moment this past week where I couldn’t believe I’m still studying for this test. I hope I don’t fail again.

We found out my daughter missed passing her standardized test by 9 pts. She can accept that score, or retake the test to try to improve. She looked at me and said, “Mom, if you can retake your exams, I can retake mine.”

As much as I have hated failing these exams, at least I've taught my daughter not to give up. Now, let’s just hope we both pass!
