NINJA CPA Review

Christina is a NINJA CPA blogger. MCQ are my best friend! That’s what I’m telling myself, at least. Instead of jumping right into MCQ, I went over old notes and looked at what I had gotten wrong on the last go. I studied things that weren’t necessarily in the book, but were in . I’m hitting MCQ hard starting this week. I took a week off because I’m a Girl Scout leader and it was cookie time. We’re nearing the end of cookie time, so back to studying I go. I’m starting with MCQ. I haven’t done horribly so far. I’m focusing on taxation first and allotting time to complete every REG SIM since the exam is changing and those will show up more. I have a good timeline for studying so I can get this exam taken in April, then want to take another exam in May. I don’t like waiting until August to

NINJA CPA Review

Christina is a NINJA CPA blogger. Do you know the saying, “when it rains, it pours?” I do, especially lately. The past 3 weeks, every person in my family, including me, has had bronchitis, AND a stomach virus. Additionally, I’ve been working nonstop due to year-end at work. My house is a disaster, my husband is working a new schedule (so I’m on overtime mommy duty) and my REG notes and MCQ haven’t been cracked open the whole time. To be honest, I’m going crazy without studying. Things have slowed down (sort of) at work enough that I can take a lunch break again. So today I am spending my break planning and writing out a new study plan, to start tomorrow. I plan on diving into MCQ, taking notes on everything. This has been the longest process in the world because I get pulled into a million directions. I am

NINJA CPA Review

Christina is a NINJA CPA blogger. I feel like a failure: I either fail this exam or push it aside for family obligations. Until recently I would tell people “I work in accounting” rather than “I’m an accountant” because I didn’t think I earned the title, but then my accountant mom overheard me. She made it very clear that passing the CPA exam does not make me an accountant. I already am one. The journey to passing the CPA Exam is tough because this isn’t just any old exam. This exam messes with your head. It was messing with my head. Then I realized: I can have a conversation about everything I’ve ever studied in my books (and be right), but I can’t get through the questions. Recently, I’ve focused on the book. I set aside MCQ for a little bit to try to regain my focus. If I can talk about the topics in the book, but

NINJA CPA Review

Christina is a NINJA CPA blogger. My brother visited last weekend. He told me he had just passed another certification for his line of work. Then he asked why I haven’t passed any of my exams yet. My initial response wasn’t so nice because, let’s face it, I’m frustrated that I haven’t as well. I wanted to finish this exam before the new test took over. Goodness, there have been many times over the past few years that I have started out for this exam and just haven’t gotten anywhere. Learning the word “No,” and learning how to put what I want first has been a challenge. He did get me thinking what to do differently. I’m more organized this go around, but the frustration from the past has been creeping up on me. It’s time to let it all go, move forward and kick this exam’s butt! I told my husband last
