The little moments keep me going.

I was struggling with the sessions after work where I would sit down and challenge myself to study just a little bit longer each day. After about thirty multiple choice questions, I got tired!

No matter what time of day, no matter what type of day I had, no matter how much sleep I got, I could not stay awake during these longer sessions. I tried to get up and walk around for 5 minutes then come back but I could not keep my eyes open.

I started to question if I can really do this, if I am committed enough. But I want this! I am studying for FAR right now and am actually interested in many of the topics that involve my current job. I want to completely understand and be able to teach others (and pass my test), but my eyes were not cooperating.

Then I tried shortened chunks of time studying using a variety of resources as my new CPA Study plan. I still started with thirty NINJA MCQs at a time then took a longer break.

Mixing that with other study materials, whether 5 minutes of flashcards on my phone, 10 minutes of a NINJA Audio chapter, or 15 multiple choice questions on one of my work breaks, these moments of reviewing a certain topic are finally clicking.

I felt like I was supposed to block off a major chunk of each of my evenings to study straight through but this was stressing me out more than helping me grasp concepts. I also feel as though after a year of studying for these tests I should know how to study by now.

Still learning, I just have to keep my eye on the ball!
