Is a CPA Exam Score Review or Appeal Worth It?

A CPA Exam score appeal is not worth it.

If you've read My Story, you might remember that I had back-to-back 74s on Regulation (and wanted to rip my hair out – which looking back, now that I'm in my 40s, I'm glad I didn't).

Not only did I have two 74s in a row, but I also lost my FAR credit. The NINJA Study Planner was born out of these struggles.

Desperate for any type of remedy that would save me from going from one “point” away from passing the CPA Exam back to only two sections passed, I looked into a CPA Exam score review (because surely there was something that could be fixed, right?).

What I found is this: by the time I paid for the appeal, and they looked into it and ultimately came back with a “sorry, kid – better luck next time,” I could have re-studied, taken my exam again, and gotten my score back.

In 10+ years of helping people pass the CPA Exam full-time, I've never heard of a successful score review – and hundreds of thousands of CPA candidates have walked these halls over the years.

A better plan is to re-study after failing, getting back in there, and punching the CPA Exam in the face. Also, adding fresh CPA Study Materials may be in order.
