First CPA Score Releases After Major Exam Overhaul Finally Arrive

The launch of the CPA Exam’s major overhaul finally arrived in April, and the big change made a long wait for some candidates eager to find out whether they hit the magic 75 number. Those who took the exam at the beginning of Quarter 2 were kept in suspense up to 20 weeks waiting for their CPA score release, although normally CPA candidates wait about 2.5 weeks after testing for their scores. But the first round of 2017 score releases finally arrived in mid-August.

If you took your test in April or May and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants received your examination data files from Prometric between April 1 and May 31, you probably saw your scores released Aug. 17 for AUD, FAR and REG. The target release date for BEC was set for Aug. 22.

Uniform CPA Exam score release timetables are important to CPA candidates who want to successfully plan a testing schedule. Knowing the CPA score release date helps in planning study schedules.

The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) releases scores to candidates and the State Boards of Accountancy according to timetables revised by AICPA.  The Institute updates the CPA Exam release dates biannually and posts the revised timetables first on AICPA Insights and on AICPA’s Website.

The CPA Exam release dates are available on the AICPA website.
